Hello Boyz,
Today I came across one of the best CNC and mold making resources I've ever seen to date! Written by Michal Zalewski, this tutorial is a keeper and just had to post!
In this write up is a wealth of awesome information showcasing the amazing prototyping possibilities of milling with the proper materials and know-how.
I found a great guide that although does not go into depth on the CNC aspect of working with plastics, will give you a good idea of where you can start and also familierize yourself a little more with the plastics that are out there. This guide came from a computer case modding forum (bit-tech) and was written by Captain Slug
Thank you Captain Slug for sharing this great information.

Hey guys,
I thought I'd show off the pp cutting 1/4" MDF using a multipass cut. The depth for each pass was set at .030 going 30 imp.
The project is an air filter for my new DL 30 gas engine. I'm replacing my OS 1.60 with it in my 74" Extreme Flight Yak. Our field got 3 truckloads of sugar sand dumped on it to help level out the low spots...What a huge mistake. I don't know what they were thinking when they did this one. Anyway the sand is ruining everyones engines and this is one way...

I am not sure if this belongs here or in the phlatscript section, but I will start it here.

The reason we have to mirror stuff is not because we cut from the bottom as I have read, but rather because our Y travels in the wrong direction. I tested this by inverting my Y direction and cut some text straight from SU. The problem is when you run in this configuration, all your cuts become conventional cutting instead of climb cutting. So for this to work nicely, we need to be able to reverse...

I have tried on three occasions to cut out the motor mounts using a 1/16" bit. The only bit that size I can find is a "dremel" bit and I buy them at Lowe's. I am using 1/8" lite ply. That is the really soft aircraft plywood that is actually a sheet of foam laminated between two sheet of plywood. The ply is not what I would call tough material but is strong enough to hold a motor for the foamies I build. Anyhow, cannot complete cutting more than one of these motor mounts before the bit snaps...
It sure seems like an idea like this could be used for drawing logos, flames, whatever can be printed, directly onto the foam. Maybe it will need an over-spray of lacquer or Krylon Clear to seal the ink away from water, but I think it's got some real possibilities.
