    Hi all,

In the Mach3 Phlatscreenset1024 V2 the (physical) keyboard buttons Home (homes X,Y,Z) and Spacebar (hold feed, poor man's Estop type like...) do not work.
(they do in the standard 1024 screen) Is there a way to get this functionality back? I need this for my makeshift keypad to work.
The easy solution would have been to use the matrix in Ports and Pins > Input Signals, and then enable emulated (green checkmark) at, for instance, the "Home X" and type in a hotkey (like the home button on my makeshift keypad) but the matrix does not function, so this might be a bug in Mach3...
(Or I have missed a setting where you can enable the hotkeys enability (is this a word?) from the input signals  )

    regards,
    martin

Martin you can go into the Mach3 folder and use the keygrabber.exe program to set your pendant system.
I think this should work for you. Other pendants have been made using this and a little VB script for the front end as a plugin for Mach3 go here to see some of the other ways they have been implemented, it may help as well

    Hi Mark,
Thanks for your reply! Although the Keygrabber would work (I'm not exactly sure how, since I do not know which user keys control the on screen buttons(the "translate to" matrix part of keygrabber)) it makes things more complicated. (By me not understanding it  )

I have used the tutorial on hacking a keyboard into a toyguitar, http://www.craxor.com/foftar/
and used 9 "standard" keys for my keypad (4arrows, pgup, pgdn shift, space, home) they work except for space and home. (They do work in the standard 1024.set screen)

    Regards,
    Martin

    Martin,
Not sure why it would work in one and not the other its really just an overlay of graphics assigned to call codes for the buttons. I will look into the screen maker program and see if there is something I missed there.
p.s. cool hack nice clean and simple. Does he have any more mods like that?
    Thanks for sharing
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
I do not know if he has more hacks, when you go to the root, you only get the notice that you have reached the end of the internet... :D

LOL I know I have been there many times! :D Once you reach the end you simply turn around and head back, there will be tons of new things to learn. :)

I fixed it! :) (bob the builder.... )
With the app called "Machscreen" (which I got from a link here somewhere on the forum)
I compared the std and the phlatboyz screens.
The hotkey for "Home printer" was missing (the green button above the Rotozip spindle jpeg), and there was no function for "hold feed" on page 1, (which is what the spacebar should do)
So I copied that function from page 5 (diagnostics) to page 1.
(so that is why there is a feed "hold button" now on the righthand side) (since unfortunately I could not make the button invisible)

Now for some reason or another I cannot add a file to this post, so I'll PM it to Mark so maybe it can be put up here...

    Laterrrr,
    Martin
