This is an attempt at creating a full fuse airplane. This was one of my first designs :D so It will need some tweaking to allow for the foam thickness and what not, but I thought you guys might like to use it for a starting base for your own designs.
I never finished it or tested it. Attached files [IMG] Fullfuse Test.zip (2.9 MB)Â

Can someone explain or point me to a tutorial that will explain how the fuselage was created for this model.

Looks very much like my Micro Mini Biplane... I don't remember exactly where I got this one from, but I did not design it. I did however, modify it to suit my own use.

I recently (last week in fact) updated my SU file to create a 15" wingspan indoor flyer using parts from a Sukhoi BNF that I was tiring of and had purchased just for this plane but never got around to setting it up.

This was done in 3mm Depron with a 1/32" bit. I turned my Dremel down to a very slow setting and reduced the feed rate as well. I used to have problems with the bit heating up and melting the foam but at this combination, it worked very very well.

I just maidened this one Sunday. It flew very well and was a hit among the guys of whom one had just gotten in a new 4-Site Biplane. The Micro Mini Ultimate was more stable and less twitchy although it does not have the aileron throws that the 4-Site has. That looks great flash. Did you create the sketchup model? I really like the full fuse look and I see the unfold plugin can be used to create 2d. I am looking for some help or direction with creating the same type in sketchup.

No, sorry, I did not create this one, but I think it probably came from RCgroups. I have tried to find it again but without success.

The first version was much smaller than this one and used parts from an air hog plane. But it did not fly all that well.

The new 4-Site biplane from Eflite inspired me to dig out the plans and scale it up for use with the components from a Sukhoi.

This version is 100 times better and I even flew it outdoors in light wind. It makes a great home for the parts from the Sukhoi which was an okay plane, but just a bit too twitchy for my liking.

Hopefully you can get some ideas from the su file as to how to do a full fuse similar to it.

Thank you Buk, I know its kinda an over view without tabbing but it may help those starting out with unfolding.
