Lol, just use a better swing servo than you would think, I used a Hitec MG81 and it was almost not enough

    A Hitec HS-85mg works well.
I use a 2212-06 2200kv parkjet motor for it and it flies great with it.

Everybody at the field always loves this plane.

so i have a megajet from grayson hobbies, do you think that would work?
it is a 2200 kv motor.
about the servos im not quite sure about those. all i have is little micro 9gram servos and a big servo that came with my tx.
i think they are all plastic or nylon gears :(
i feel like they would not work very well at all or they would just strip the gears
can someone send me a link to a good servo to use maybe from hobbyking.com?
that would be mighty nice of you all lol
    thanks in advance :) :) :) :) :) :)

Megajet will be too big but a Super Parkjet would fit perfectly.
As for servos 9 gram are fine for all but the wing sweep. Plastic gears on those are fine.
The wing sweep would have to be a min HS81MG, HS85MG preferred (metal gear). Do not go with anything but a metal gear servo there because it isn't serviceable once installed.
You still need the micro servo for the wing sweep as there isn't alot of room to fit anything bigger in because of the design, so your TX servo will be too large.

    thanks jnida :)
(dang that means i need to so some shopping and waiting :( ) lol
i guess it will be alright
or maybe i can just check the hobby store
maybe they might have some servos but i doubt it

I agree the Super Mega jet motor is too big for this plane. You need the regular parkjet motor that runs off a 3s 1300 battery. Although if you scale the plane up a bit you could use the Megajet...hint,hint.

Also if you scaled it up you would probably be ok using your bigger standard size servo but metal gears are really preferred.

If you go with the normal size one here is a few wing sweep servos ranging from best to least. All should be adequate enough.

that did help, quite a bit actually :)
now all im wondering is... how much should i scale it up?
also i feel like that would require a lot of work,
although its gotta be worth it for and amazing bird like this.
i mean ya know thats a lot of parts in that file lol
but i will try to do it and i will have to just show all of you :)

okay so i was wrong i actually have the motor one step down from the mega jet, its the super sonic.
i was taking a look at the servos and noticed that they are digital and i normally use analog.
    would it make a difference?
i was thinking i would get the one on the top for the swing and a few of the ones on the bottom just for anything else i may need them for.
im just not sure about the whole digital analog thing.

You can use digital anywhere you want, on my U-CANDO I use a 266oz. Digital rudder servo and Karbonite standard servos everwhere else, so mixing the servo types won't hurt you at all.
The Super Sonic motor is perfect for it, if you love alot of speed
It is the motor I use.

The way I look at it, digital servos have greater holding power. That is it will really fight against any movement. Really useful on large controls that need to hold a control such as a large rudder for knife edge. They also use a lot more power, and are always "on" They are said to have better resolution.

On the swing wing I am guessing you would need power (probable not as much as you would think though), but not too much holding power.

With that said, I still use analogs just about ever where from my 12 ounce 3D machines to my .40 size conversions. I do have 2 digitals on my 8' C123, but only used them because they were the standard size servos I had on hand as they came with my Spektrum radio.

There is no build log except the one for the profile version originally designed by Mabyz on RCGroups. Basically you would use his build log to build the back half of the plane and then the nose is just a box that slides on to the back half.
