I couldn't get any decent photos of it because it was above the booth with the dark ceiling above. It looked like this:

I did get a little video of the motor / direction control system here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ed97BY-XRSA at 5:19. It was mounted above the end of the canard - just click on the picture to follow the link.
Anyway, this might make another great candidate for a similarly controlled kite.

If this thing is remote controlled and not tethered, why is it a kite and not a plane? What the difference between a kite and a plane? I thought it was the tethering.

Errr - Marketing? Maybe the terms are different because the covering IS the wing, and there are no ribs or formers. (That would imply that all foamies would qualify as a kite.) Actually, I always thought it depended on tethering, also, but since this WAS a kite ( http://www.premierkites.com/pdf/kites/45880.pdf ) to which they added a motor and directional controls, they're probably confused what to call it, themselves.

    Dorsal,

I was just reading the Spring 2010 issue of Park Pilot magazine and they showed this powered kite canard too. Anyway I wasn't sure if you were looking for the mfg of this powered kite but here it is: http://www.premierrc.com they have some nice videos showing how their kites are controlled and stuff.

on a different but somewhat related topic I just bought my wife a unpowered airfoil power kite and she loves it:
