I finally did the deed and coughed up the $12 to get the 808 model #3 Of course afterwords I was talked into doing a group buy because it worked so well.

Just a few seconds and still 300meg :? and its still not as good as the raw 720×480 it shot :(

It seems to do well stuck to my heli. It's going on a pusher jet next the a little glider for a real look at this hot desert dirt floor. Late evening during the monsoon should be great with the lighting constantly flashing from distant storms :D

I did a little VirtualDub time and removed the time stamp (via crop-re-size) and I'm not happy with the quality I need to reduce it to keep a manageable upload at 350meg. But that's me and my DSL issue. Had to edit out a few minutes of repetitive flips and rolls because it get boring to watch. I don't find it boring to fly, and I'll do that repetitive stuff daily for weeks till it's second nature, then move on.

On this one flight I had a close call doing a triple flip and trimmed the neighbors Palo-verde a tad. But I didn't panic, just held my breath and let the -8 motor pull that full collective to safety. Did a screen shot as an attachment  and a vid were it happens a 3:38

This camera is a little odd in that it doesn't have a true on/off switch. It has a sleep/on switch so there is always some drain on the battery. Which is a 3.7v-200ma lipo with some circuity at the tabs that I'm hoping is both a charge regulator and a low voltage power off setup.

It does get quite warm, if not hot after the three hour charge and during its use. I've used mine hard over the last week with a few ''oops I left it on all night'' charges and I figured that battery took a hit. Dissection revealed no puff, just a tight little battery.

It still does a full 4G movie at 50 minutes. It also seems the 808 model#3 has a low enough input write rate not to require a class 6 micro SD and works fine with a class 2. So that's cool because I got lucky and grabbed four 4G good class 2 cards for $18 sh/incl off the bay. I did get one camera that hates vibration and will not work on the one heli it was assigned to. Yet worked fine on a pusher jet.

There is also a program for the #3 that with a push of the button turns itself into a nice webcam at the full resolution (I think :? , seems like it) and it works better than my glass lens Hercules cam. The date stamp is not hard to set, or remove(Vdub)either. Basically it's a geek toy.

Thanks Tiger, that would of save the research time. Wonder why it didn't show up during my searches?

Mark, from what I've gathered about the different models that looks like a #4 only by the still pic size info. Pros and cons to each, I stuck with the #3, and the complete thing with 4G card was under $20 delivered, and a ten day wait :(
It's going out on a motocross ride today to the jumps (helmet cam) and we'll see what its like to jump a house.
