I'm trying to learn Sketchup and I have run into a problem that probably has a simple solution. But I've spent almost 2 hours trying to figure it out with no luck. I have imported a 3 view drawing and I'm trying to trace the outline using the line tool. But, it won't let me follow the outline. For instance if I start at the wing root and try to trace the leading edge of a tapered wing (top view) - it offsets the line perpendicular to the starting point. I can't follow the taper of the wing. I can put an endpoint at the root of the wing at the leading edge. I can then put an endpoint at the begining of the taper. It won't let me draw a line along the taper, but I can draw a line offset from the taper. It seems to be an inference problem. Kind of reminds me of a Snap-to issue. But I really don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Sounds like your units are set too large, go to window-model info and set units and length snapping to 1/64".
You could turn off line snapping but at 1/64" you won't need to.

Thanks, it is set to 1/64", I also tried turning off angle snapping. It didn't make any difference.
