Heck, the jars and hose are worth that.

I have that basic one. I always use it to blow the dust out of my pc. Just make sure you have a real vacuum there also, to intercept the dust cloud.

I have all the above as well as this one

I've been using it more than the rest. It does a fair job ( considering my skill level ) and with all the jars, Its real simple to change colors without have to clean the gun.
I have it running direct off the main compressor and while I do have a airbrush compressor, I save it for the dual action brushes.
My only complaint has been the hose doesn't like to stay on the fitting at the air tank. I've tried hot gluing it and while that helped for a bit, it still ended up blowing off.

I also bought up a bunch of the Apple Barrel paints from WallyWorld today. Any of you guys using that? If so how bout some mixing tips, ratios, thinner used water/Windex, etc.? I've never used an airbrush.

I use the Apple barrel paints, I thin it with rubbing alcohol.
It really dries fast with that stuff.
I thin to a water like consistency.

I've also heard of mixing it with windshield washer fluid, like 50%.

Crash suggests mixing the Apple-Barrel paints about 50/50 with Windex, as I recall. I haven't needed to do any airbrushing in over a year, so I haven't tried it personally.

Not all windshield washer fluids are created equal, don't even try the winter time stuff. The blue color in washer fluid and Windex will tint lighter colors a tiny bit, only barely noticable in white, but will tint yellow a little green. I use windex and thin until the paint sprays how I like. The pigments in Apple barrel paints are fairly coarse, so I strain mine through some very fine super light cloth ( if I remembered what it is I'd say, but I got it about 2 yrs ago ). 2 square yds will make about a gajillion strainers. If your airbrush spits and sputters, clean it really well and strain your paint.
