oh yeah I was keeping an eye on that. Still messing with that snowmachine for running around on the ground. I'm thinking FF and snow don't mix well though.

Ok on second thought, That is an agressive project. Still have the info. Some nice tricks for assembly that could be applied to other projects.

It uses a simple coil for a magnetic compass. But even without the fancy electronics, you can still make one that just hovers. I have the i-top classic, where he got the idea for the magnetic compass. It's pretty neat and will rotate and write text with a single column of leds. And it can calculate velocity, compass direction and who knows what else. Here is video of the i-top:

He doesn't have it set up to write text, but does use a single led to show the tail direction.
