    Nice find Buk!
I wonder why they used the on-board computer and limited the data. I would think they would have used all that detailed data and transmit it to a laptop for processing then control the quad from there. I would think the time it would take to transmit/process would be minimal and it would allow for a quick avoidance sequence? In the real world the network could be replaced with cell signals
Very cool stuff! Thanks for sharing

Not sure unless they have plans for an autonomous quad? What ever their plans I'm sure they'll incorporate more processing power. The system seems to be very stable as-is.

This is real syfy stuff :fugly:

Mark, I think they did it because of the laps time. In the video the craft travels very slowly but if you want it to travel at any realistic speed you can't have any laps time, even milliseconds, since it will crash into objects before the avoid signal will return to the onboard control

    Just my :02cents:

I see what you guys mean, but I can help but wonder if it would work since when we fly we are the avoidance computers (sometimes not so good :) ) and our radios are the transmitters.
So when I was thinking about it thats the way I thought it may work, but just replacing us with a computer doing the calculations for avoidance. It may be that we are quicker at it than any computer could be :D
