Hey guys just found some old skool videos of our early rc days thought you guys might like to see'em :D
    Enjoy
    Mark and Trish
BTW These designs were before the PP but we could remake them because most are in sketchup. I also have a lot more that I just didn't have a chance to upload today, I will get them up there when I can.

I WANT the plans for that car! I will mod the file to look like my Jeep, and even paint it to match. The guys in my club will get a kick out of that!

Fun stuff, guys. I can't wait to see what else you upload! :D

Cool videos. I like the car, and the minimill is eyeopening. I'd like to see details on that.

This thread has potential to be kind of fun and educational in learning about the 'old skool' skills our more experienced members have. Just an idea. If its cool with the OP Mark maybe a vid or pic of a neat project from the past and a little note about it from a few of us could bring on a few ideas for future projects.

blindflight, no they do not and it was really tipsy :) The plan was to have the control surfaces under each duct, with a gyro but I never reached that stage.

You after looking that the videos I realized that I have indeed designed a pusher that worked. That shadow is a pusher and it was the only one I ever got to work. I made that design from a picture of a spaceship I found on the net :D

    Cool stuff!
I thought the ufo thing was cool. It kinda looked like the whole vertical stab was a rudder. Is that right?
    I liked the car too.

    Great Videos,

I like some of the camera angles. esp. the one way up high looking down.
Talk about your urban flying. :D You must be a good tree climber or have a long @$$ pole.
I fly sometimes in a Cemetary with 3 small trees and have put some" no a lot" of planes in them and Through them. It's like they come out of noware and bam have to climb the tree again.

    Cheers

That's some fancy flying Mark. All those turns around the trees. Love it. I have an open field with one tree way to the side and darn if I don't hit it every now and then.

An old skool designed plane for an old skool thread. Sorry guys, it was way before foam.

This is a design I went a little nuts with because I was getting bored with the same old same old. A plane called 'The hots' had just come out and it flew about like a CL (Control Line) stunter if built light. It had a think airfoil, around 22% I believe and could square loop like nothing else. I needed a bigger version.

I started this project wanting to use the thickest airfoil I could get from a sheet of balsa and keeping the fuse as airfoil-ish as possible. The first flights the wing tips even had a stringer'd shape Another goal was to keep it under 4 lbs while using a 4 stoke .60. I failed on those last two objectives having to settle on the nice power to weight of a piped 46. Hoping to add the 4 stroker later I keep the nose short. That was a mistake.

Some specs. Fully symmetrical 3 1/8'' 25% airfoil using balsa/basswood D box with cap strips. Box and former/stringer fuselage. OS .46 long piped (thumper) running an 11x5 zinger. AUW 4.6 lbs. Covered in Monokoto. Tower 500 Gold standard size radio. Internal pipe and on board glow with a 12oz tank.

Flying: It flew well. No bad habits. Even dead stick'd nice if you remember what your flying. The knife edge loop was easy enough along with the tumbling Lumchavoc(sp?) Mainly it just looked goofy as all get up. A speeding blimp with wings.

Pics were taken after 40 flights just before it was stripped and tossed into the pile awaiting the yearly bonfire. Attached files [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
