    Hello

I have received a set of 2D DXF files to mill for a friend of mine.

I can import them into Sketcup and I the measurements are good. But, after I have "Phlatten selected edges" i can make outside cuts and inside cuts on square parts but not on round holes etc.

How can I do this in the correct order?

    I have:

    - Imported DXF
    - Exploded them
    - Marked all and phlattened selected edges
    - Tried outside cuts (works) and inside cuts (doesnt work, program freezes and sketchup shuts down)

I have no problems on files drawn completely in sketchup :)

Thans for hints, tricks and help!

    Hello Trulsen
Could you could post the files? We can take a look at them and maybe see whats causing the problems.

trident03, I'm not sure of what f22 blueprinton you are talking about but you don't drag and drop into SU, you have to import through the 'import' option under 'file'.

    @Trulsen
I looked at the file. I'm afraid this will take quite a bit of work; unless someone has a plug in for this.
Each element will need to have a face in order for the PhlatScript to work. Your drawing has a bunch of groups defined for each object. For example in this screen shot the purple object is what I created by exploding the object 3 times. Once to explode to the 2 vertical lines, and once each for the top/bottom arcs. Then I deleted one of the vertical lines, and re-drew. This created a face.

You can see the yellow object. This shows that the elements are grouped. Right click and choose explode on any grouped objects.

You will need to do this for ALL objects until you get faces on EVERYTHING.

Will take a lot of work for sure. Attached files [IMG]

    This is an interesting import.
I had to explode everything 3 times unhide the hidden geometry then use the phlatten tool 2 times to get everything to show up.
Basically this file will get you a lot further. You will still need to get rid of the 3 arms that showed up and you might need to connect a few broken lines to get the faces to appear.
