A local friend asked me for an Edge 540 with a 32" wingspan to use as an indoor and outdoor flyer. I came up with this design to fit the bill using 1/4" FFF. Another friend fell in love with the plane, but wanted it with a 40" wingspan, so I scaled up the design and adjusted all of the tabs and slots so it would go together just like it's smaller counterpart.

I am particularly pleased with this design, as it was my first endeavor that I worked up from start to finish. I don't claim to be a good designer in SketchUp, but I feel that this one turned out very nice! Please feel free to download it, cut one out, and let me know what you think! Hey Crash, I love the plane and I took some liberties with it, I hope you don't mind but I am working it up as a full fuse version, if you don't care I will post it under this thread.

Ok, have the full fuse version done and cut out, if it flys (dang wind) i will post up the plans.
Oh, i forgot, it is made from 3/8ths inch dow underlayment so you would have to fix the slot sizes and things for 1/4". If i have the time and it flys i will try to make those changes. Attached files [IMG]

It flys nicely, but the motor that i have doesn't quite have the power it needs, new one from Grayson is on the way.
You will have to set your parameters for 1/4" foam and regenerate the Phlatcode for it since i use 3/8" foam.
This is the not quite 40" version Attached files Edge-540Full-Fuse.zip (678.5 KB)Â
