Very nice model, indeed. I think the ultimate irony would be a phlatprinter making a phlatprinter.

wow! I downloaded the dxf a couple of weeks ago, imported into Sketchup2013, and gazed in wonderment at the many pieces, realizing I had no idea where they go, so put it on one side 'for now'. the router available to me can cut them all out of one sheet in one go, but that doesn't help without some indication of what joins to what.
Since then I had some new ideas and am probably not going to build a phlatprinter in this form....

Did you do it from the file that Mark posted on Openbuild forum? I saw it there but I didn't realize it was the PP I. For some reasons I thought it was the PP III. May be just my wishful thinking. :D

Maybe Mark will be kind enough to post the PP III too. I could use it if I need to replace a part on mine.

Yea , the parts came from the DXF file Mark posted on openbuilds.
I just made them all 1/4" thick and started building the model..
The thing is , the further along i got the more i thought this model could be really usefull for someone building one. You could take the parts and kinda like hold them , rotate them and take them apart to see how the real thing is built..

I gotta admit though. The y/z axis did stump me quite a bit to start with . and i looked at Crash's build pictures and figured it out . .....................and the part for the plexiglass wasnt in the file

What do you guys think ? could this model help someone with there build ?

Yea i would love to get my hands on the PP3 and the Phlat former files myself . to also put togeather in 3d . :)

Great job, Bruce. Now, of course, you'll have to do the same for the PP III.

That would be cool guys and your more then welcome to however they are already put together as models. You could grab the DXF (once they are up) and do it for fun just to see if you can figure out the puzzle :D
