Congrats. That's a nice step forward. Are you going to be able to cut sometime? I mean with the noise of the Dremel and all.

66, we will be cutting the entire time! There is going to be so much noise there, the sound of the Dremel will be the least of it plus, we could just put it at half speed and it won't bother anyone.

Anyone have any ideas on what our give away should be?

The foam 'Glue Stick Dispenser' might get the ideas flowing for some.. Maybe one built and a sheet cut on display. That would get the point across as to the machines versatility.

Agreed.. Noise will not be an issue.

The glue stick dispenser is a neat gizmo, but it takes a while to cut, How about a simpe chuck glider? Could fit quite a few on a single sheet, and there would be more to give a way.

Hmmm - Chuck gliders with the PhlatBoyz logo or "PhlatPrinter" engraved @25% depth on the underside of the wing.

mark, ya gotta rev up the dremel full blast....more noise the bigger crowd you will attract......as far as what the "give away" should be, i really dont think you need to be concerned about that. the phlatprinter will sell itself. ya wont have to run it alot, just every now and then..... have brochures, the fellas like stuff to read and look at later on...when they kick back. also if i were you, i would have some "phlatgear" hats, tees.....the fellas will dig the phlatdude..... have lots of samples the people can look at....even the non-rc stuff that the wifes will be interested in, christmas decorations, etc. nothin like a wife tellin ya, hun ya gotta build one of them, lols. also if ya can do it, have kits ther and ready to sell, alot of fellas like to get it like right now.....man mark, i get the feeling your table will be a very busy place.....if i can make it ther, all i will have to do is listen for the screamin banchee dremel, and look for the big crowd......randy.

Thank you for all of your responses. We are working on getting some hats made. We hadn't thought of t-shirts but that is a good idea too. We will have to come up with some cool samples to show. I really like the Eiffel Tower. We'll have to cut another one of those. Some type of foamie for the kids is a must. Hmmm, so much to do and plan between now and then. It's really exciting!

We hope to see you all there!

I'm in with what rjarios was sayin, I was really shocked to see just how many people were actually there. Your call entirely, but consider if you will, hoards of RCer. :D
One thing though I walked out last year with some great products, but didn't have anything to tie it back to who I bought it from, leaving me guessing on future sales... But I guess that's why this goes on every April!

    Randy,

We're working really hard trying to get everything together and to have the MKII ready for the show. The MKII has gone through some major changes after testing that we are still trying to finalize. It's looking good IMHO :)

We just received our booth number in the mail (142 E). We were stoked too but it's hard to know if you have a good booth or not although we have been told there aren't any bad spots in the show. We'll post the floor map and highlight our booth in the announcement section tomorrow.

Our "to do" list is a mile long, at this point. We have faith everything will get done.

    It's getting really close!!!!!!!!

whoever told you ther was no bad spots for your booth location, well they lied to ya bud, lols. i pitty the poor bastages that get stuck in the corners, lmao. man what a zoo, peeps get so packed in the corners ya cant even get close to the vendors. if ya really need to see something, ya gotta almost fight your way in. most of us seasoned veterans dont dare venture near them. the spot you guys got is like prime vendor's placement. hell they usually stop big ghetto monkeys like me from even walking down them aisles, lmao. thats why i asked how ya got that spot, lols. well just in case, i will bring my extra wallet, i carry two of them sometimes for special occasions. randy.

I agree with Randy, That is a Prime location, Within earshot of the doors, Everyone will bee looking for what's making all the racket, and making it one of their first stops.. It's likely the corners will be much less crowded, but asle E will be hard to get through though. :)

I wonder how much noise Mark & Trish are allowed to make. Maybe they should have a sign that saids live demos on the hour. That way the maximum people will see the demo, and also stir up some hype. And just in case the noise will get them banned from running the PP live? What's the opinion on the noise, from those that have been to the show?

I think that during peak time the din will be so loud that it won't much matter. Although maybe only running it every now and then will keep the neighbors happy. It may be music to our ears, but having a dremel running all day for 3 days may not be for everyone.

Something to consider as far as the sound goes...

If you head off to your local car audio store, you can pick up some DynaMat material (or better yet, some knock off of the DynaMat). It is for sound dampening in your car or truck to keep road noise to a minimum so that your tunes shine through accurately.

Anyway, the stuff does a really good job of dampening unwanted sounds and has and adhesive surface on one side. Also, it's fairly thin and can be trimmed to just about any size you need it to be.

When I was in Harbor Freight getting a new airbrush compressor last weekend, I thought I saw some of the imitation stuff. Might be worth checking out...

Just spoke with one of the Club Members, And he didn't seem to think that the sound would be much of an issue.

I don't think so either. The guys over at the Himax booth periodically spin up a ducted fan that screems so loud you can hear it everywhere! (course they don't leave it up for long). Davis Diesel is running his engines at times as well, (course they are pretty quite). There is a pretty high level of "din" all the time. I'm not sure it will sound very loud once in place.

I wouldn't go to any extremes to quiet the PP, because that will imply it's so noisy that the buyer needs to worry about scaring the neighbors!
Leave the box in stock condition, and give your booth-neighbors one of the giveaways for their trouble. ;)
