Not in the material thickness showed (or even close). There is just to much stress on certain parts of a weight driven clock.

    This little project,
    http://www.amazon.com/Make-Your-Working-Paper-Clock/dp/0060910666
is a challenge in itself to build then getting it to run is another challenge. I've built a couple, and the drive weight is 2 lbs. just to get it to run. First humid week and it falls off the wall

If you'd like I can zip up my research and patterns and beam it to you. I'm thinking of doing a clock in 1/8 plywood with no important part over 10'' in size.

A friend had one of those clocks - it took 3 rolls of pennies to get the mechanism to move. His was constructed of paper, iirc, but he had to harden the gear teeth with CA glue to get them to last more than a week.
I really don't think BluCor will fare much better, but it's an opinion based on one data point. :|

I thought about a weight driven pendulum clock, but like the rest of you don't think foam will hold up for the escapement. I'm working on an electric clock using K&S brass telescoping tubing for the axles. I don't have it all cut out yet. It's mostly 1/2" foam. It uses a 1 RPM motor like those used to drive the augers for pellet stoves. I need a big clock so I can see it all over the shop. A 42" one should do it. :D

Unzipped there are dozens of files, mainly pdf's, a dxf or two and a program to make gears by size, pitch, and ratio. All this stuff is just what I'd gathered via internet over a week of searching and requesting from other clock makers. There was a thread in cnc-zone that was kind of old but a gentleman came through on my request and send me the complete plans for one of the clocks. It's in there.

I didn't, or haven't yet done the conversion work into code because something way cooler came up IMO and I put the clock on the back burner till, 1: I get better at the precision stuff on the mill, 2: find out what kind of wood is best for a dimensionally stable fully functional beautiful looking piece of clock art, and 3: cough up the cash to buy the wood, bits, hardware and finishing products.

Sorry if I mislead you into thinking I had a sketch ready clock.. It's just the research and pdf plans of clocks in different flavors. ;)

BTW if anyone wants my research packet, just Pm
