fellas, i have been workin up a new model....this plane looks awesome. the fella that made the build thread name is jason. he is a very nice fella, and shared his drawings with me in confidence that i would not post them online anywhere. i would like to share the files, but i gave Jason my word i would keep in confidence. being old school, i will honor my word and keep it under my hat....if anyone has any interest in this model will have to talk to him. i do want to post a link to his build thread were the old monkey started to get involved with this model. Jason has video of the clik-xl posted thru out his thread, and im sure you will find it a nice looking, flying model to work up...anyone want a look here is the link, peace, randy.

randy, did you make the holder? I can't tell if the rods are foam or dowels from the photos but it looks like it was custom made to fit the plane.

Randy, those trailing edges and control surfaces look gnarly :!:
(i.e. awesome to you non-California dudes and dudettes)
Does is affect their effectivity as a control surface, or just add drag?

Dennis, as far as i know about it they do both somehow, but i am a idiot monkey about the subject. i do know the model is ment to be flown slow 3-D style, and the air turbulators help do that somehow. also jason over on rc groups that gave me the drawings says its a excellent patters model also. his name is "edfrules" and check out some model flight videos...he would be the fella to ask that to get a intelligent answer......not a ghetto foam cutting monkey, lmao. follow the link in my first post to his thread. peace, randy.

ok fellas, i put the finishing touches on the same way i roughed it in sloppy as heck.....i could say i drank too much coffee that made my hands shake, lmao...its called old age...well i got steady hands for flyin that's the important thing...all in all not to bad for freehand airbrushing...all left to do is cut a motor mount and mount the motor, and install radio..as of now its at 8.40z with everything glued on and painted, minus the motor mount....randy.

    Randy, that looks sharp!
A question for you; In some photos the "side-force-generators" on the wings seem parallel to the fuselage - but in others they seem to point outboard by at least 10 degrees. Which is it?

(btw, I'd love to get a copy of the pdf files you started from.)

the wing tip ones are straight to fuse....Jason also put air tabulators on, and them go on the angles....im not installin any as i have turbulators on all the trailing edges. thanks for the complement, all the airbrushing was slopped on by hand. its not real good up close, but in the air it will be allrite. randy.

Randy, in the photo of the cut sheets it looks like you've cut two times the rear part fuse with the elevator but in the build photo it looks like there is only one, is there a reason for cutting two?

Do you have a photo of the top and bottom fuse parts?

Randy, that's an awsome build! This is where the PP comes into its own in my opinion....I wouldn't fancy trying to cut those parts by hand.

I know the plans and code can't be made available as it is based on a commercially available kit (the Clik! from RCFactory), but there are plans for a VERY similar model called 'Devil V2' on RCG if anyone is interested : http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost ... stcount=31

ok fellas, the "phlatprinter clik-xl" is completed....i found a awesome mod for foamies...it takes a lil time to do, but its a excellent way to strengthen the fuse on a foamie model. the total weight tally came in at 21.3oz..... with 260watts, it will have 3-d power :D btw thats with a 2100mah pack. i didnt weigh it with a 1320mah yet. on the rudder and elevator controls were done in a pull/pull system. i used 20# spiderwire braided fishing line for the controls, and the fuse stiffening. i will post the finished build photo when it stops raining out. i have been getting pm's from the fellas that want the plans/cut files. like i said in the first post, i promised jason this would be kept under my hat. i haven't done alot in my life, but i always keep my word. randy.

Cool link on how to rig.
I may come to reference that if I get back to my DVII
Really a nice looking foamy, and really shows off what the pp can do.
    Nice paint job too!
