I built the PbF from FFF that Crash posted and had so much fun with it, I just had to cut one out in Depron, add lights, a bigger motor and new paint scheme.

The original design is from LeadFeather on RCgroups.com (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=981793&highlight=pizza+box+flyer). Crash made the original SU files and posted them here on this forum and I took those plans, made some changes added airbrush templates which you can cut from FFF and paint your plane with it if you like.

The light set is the V3 light set from Lazertoyz.com.

I use a 1/16" bit, so the SU file is setup for that size bit.

This plane should have been name "Too Much Fun!". I have not maidened the night flyer as yet, but the FFF version without lights and with a smaller Blue Wonder motor has been a blast to fly!

Andy, the pilot was printed on Glossy Photo Paper and cutout with a Craft ROBO cutter and then placed in the cockpit with 3M 77 adhesive.

The firewall and servo mounts were cut from 1/8" lite ply (on the phlatprinter) and the servo backing pieces are 6mm Depron.

I hand carved the two pieces behind the firewall from 3 layers of Depron glued together.

The plane was glued with Aleene's Tacky Glue purchased from Walmart. It is same stuff as canopy glue that you pay 3 time as much for half as much at the hobby shop. Hot glue was used to glue the motor mount and landing gear tubes.

I am powering this version with a BP 2217-9 brushless motor and an 8x4 Master Airscrew prop. Battery is a ThunderPower 1320mah LIPO.

This is one of the few planes that I have built that I can actually fly in the lot next door to me. Trees, telephone poles, mailboxes, canal, and home have all been obstacles that normally keep me from flying here, but the PBF flys with such high alpha, you can litterly walk beside it and maneuver it with ease.

It can be a bit squirrly if you try to fly it flat instead of at high alpha, but take it up two mistakes high and have fun with it. Attached files CircleFirewall.skp (94.5 KB)Â LeadFeathers PBF_16V2.skp (1.2 MB)Â [IMG] [IMG]

Very nice, Flash! These planes are a hoot to fly, but I've never tried one at night. I have one from FFF in the workshop that I think I'll stuff and light up. These things fly so predictable and slow that they make a perfect in-the-street-in-front-of-your-house plane. Around here, the winds always calm after the sun sets, so this will be the perfect plane for whiling away my evenings this summer!

Only been able to fly it in lot next door but it is an improvement. Hope to take it to field today to open it up.

LeadFeather says I may need to slot it and move it back another inch. I agree. But I'll get a better idea after I get a chance to put it thru the paces.
