I would think a 950 kv and 9x6 prop should be ok ;) the wing span is 34" :D

Articulate the nose and go variable pitch, (I know its been done) and it would make a challenging ship.

The nose is setup like a gimble (sp?) and will move up/down with elevator, and maybe right/left via rudder. I found the video of the setup. The second one down and at the beginning the pilot does a pre-flight surface check. The rest is just to cool. If a VPP setup was available for a 10' to 11' prop I'd be all over that. If you want to corroborate on a setup I'm in :D

crazzy, the cg should be in the center of the prop slot. If you can put your finger through the slot and it balances then that will be a good starting point.

Tbird, I spoke to Donatas about the articulated nose on the Arrow (the model you linked to) and apparently it had very little effect. I added a VPP system to my original Sumo and it was very tricky to control. The short fuselage makes it difficult to balance, it's much easier with a longer fus.
Infact the latest model I've built using the PP is the VPP Arrow that Donatas designed.

Good info about the lack of authority on the articulated nose, thanks. Could you PM me about the setup your using and an opinion about it. I'm thinking of going in that direction but need something for outdoor flying. If I recall the Arrow was a little to small and light for me area.

    crazzy,
Cool! When I built that one I had a blast with it. I could fly it right in my backyard. This was the first plane I had ever flown that used a rudder and It was easy to get the hang of it.
I really liked flying it and would like to build another one soon
Glad to hear you are having a good time with it
