I have an ocassion where I only want the part i am working with to slide on only one axis. Like left right only but will not move up and down as an example. I know there is a simple key to hit but i just can't find it. Thanks for any help folks. :)

    In Sketchup I assume...
The left, up, and right arrow keys will do that.
For example: Go to draw a line, as your drawing it press the left key and it will constrain the line to the green axis. Press the left again and it unconstrains it. Down arrow will unconstrain too.
Same goes for the move tool.

Holding the Shift key will keep you on an axis that you are curently on.

Thanks for that anyair. I was just checking it out. That is something I can really use. Printed out your shortcuts and have been slowly working them in. Amazing how fast you can get when you don't think about any of the keys. Thanks for that sir!
