Oh my! I see Mark is learning how to pour cement! It is quite obvious he has never done this before.

The fellow in the rubber suit is handing off the job to Mark who has no idea what he is getting into. After all, he is still in shorts and was expecting this to be a vacation gettaway.

And lets see now, we have trees all around us, so obviously we are not pouring a new runway for the Surfer Dude or anything that resembles something that flies, but then again, Mark is known to be a tree surfer.... I could be wrong.

No, after thinking more about it, I have come to the conclusion a cement truck was drop shipped here by helicopter to pour a new concrete tomb for all of the tree dragons which Mark is going to slay during his trip to Tennessee. Yes, that must be it.

I suppose we will find out the real story soon enough....

Hey guyz. Well, we got through the concrete part of this job despite Mother Nature's best attempt to wash all of the concrete away. We no sooner had the foundation poured and the thunder started. Then the rain and the lightning. We all ran around and tried to cover the concrete with plastic bud hadn't planned for the rain so we quickly ran out and had to use trash bags. What a mess. The rain didn't last long but it did last long enough to saturate the ground just minutes before the block, sand, and mortar was delivered. The delivery man still drove up the driveway (which is freshly cleared land and that's it). He made it through the block fine. The run he took with the sand was the one that he got stuck on. He was stuck in almost 2 feet of mud. He was in a fork lift. So, we were able to get him out of the mud finally by placing block behind him and letting him run up on them. The last run would have been the mortar. That one ended up at the end of the property and we can't blame him but it did make the job that much harder.

The girls (me, Mark's sister, and Mark's Mom and the grandbaby) stayed and helped on Wednesday. We did what we could but those blocks are heavy! There was plenty to be done and we wanted to make sure we got everything done that we could because the World's Longest Yard Sale started on Thursday and we didn't want anything to stop us from going to that (we worked our butts off Wednesday :) )

So, we went to the yard sale.

Actually, there were yard sales everywhere. Mostly dealers, to be honest. We were basically disappointed because we found out that all of the locals actually yard sale on Wednesday (the day before the official start) so all of the good stuff seemed to be bought already. We really didn't want to shop at the dealers stands because they were priced very high. We were looking for bargains! I wasn't really able to find anything r/c related except for my new flight box...

So, all in all, it was a fun successful trip and we didn't have to slay any tree dragons :). We have a lot to catch up on. We can't wait to see what has been going on since we left.
