Eric and i meet today to fly....he showed me his A-123 charger he scratchbuilt on his phlatprinter. i am truly amazed that he cut this circuit board on his printer. then made all the traces, and soldered all the components to make a homemade A-123 charger....i witness Erik charging his packs at 12amps. he can charge up his packs faster than you can fly them. great job Erik...

I soldered everything in upside down like a monkey, but it does work. There are a few things to know, z-depth is VERY critical, and the cut pattern is mirrored, which happens to be what you would normally want.

    Looking good Eric!
Is that the board from the DIY section in RCgroups?

I use to fly a 14s A123 pack in a Trex 600. I always charged them on a TME Extrema charger, but I heard that adapter works great.

Hey Shaun same board, different layout. A long lamp cord goes between the that board and the supply battery, cuts out at ~11V

Great job Erik, you are unstoppable
The first PCB on the Phlatprinter incredible. You have really taken this to a whole new level now.

I noticed that right off ;) but it works, that's what matters. Is encapsulation next? Or does it get to hot. The board cuts look good.

I almost went A123's for the quick charge rate. Luckily the Lipo Hyperion's came out with a 5C charge. Which is more than my polycharge4 will do, but four little 3s packs in 15mins is good enough.

The last one I made was enclosed, but I ended up burning it up due to a user error... When it's enclosed you tend not to think of the heat load.

I have plans to make a better version with thinner cuts, not soldered upside down and all, but we NEED to get some of the depth issue straightened out first. Once we get pocket cuts going, that will naturally follow. I unfortunately ruined 2 boards trying to make this one before I got it set to the depth needed.
