I have the cnc files all cut out, Now to see how the parts and the tabs work out.

The Illusion was designed by our friend Thatovalguy Or TOG as he is known in other forums.
This is a test as it is only the second airplane that i have cut from my own files. It looks as though everything is going to work out nice. I should have added a couple more tabs for the center / middle part of the fuse but hey, Im getting lazy in my old age ;) Attached files [IMG] [IMG]

Cool!! Looking good ewo... Looks like you're cutting that in Depron, the weight should be very good on that design. Good luck!! looks like the phlatprinter is doing the business for you!

    Best Regards,
    Julian (Fozzy The Bear)

Looks great ewo  . Getting the tabs in the right place can be a bit of a learning curve, it's a fine line between having too many and not enough.

Be sure to let us know how it fits together, IMO it's one of Howards best designs.
You'll have to cut a Morback next :)

Thanks Guys....This is an awsome airplane. Probly my favorite indoor plane and i dont fly indoor.! :)

The bit is 1/16" and it cuts very slick and clean Mark. And the depron is 3mm , span is 32"
Im trying to get to under 5 oz with this one. I have learned so much from Howard.

As soon as i am abel to get ahold of Howard i will post the files for you all, If he says i can.

Si , when you see the other picture i forgot to post you will see why i have so many tabs :D
PS.. you have mail ! ;)

Very cool indeed ewo, looking forward to the files. Remember if their are free plans posted elsewhere you can post them here as well with no problems. I am trying to go through as many free plans I find posted and work them them as well, so that we build up a huge database of ready to print planes to share :) Its sure nice to not have to download the PDF/DXF and hand cut them anymore.
Great video thanks for sharing. I am looking forward to flying this bad boy at the next fly-in!

Ok folks....... I posted the files here about a week ago after getting the go ahead from TOG. and then started putting the parts togeather only to find the tabs werent aligned with there prospective slots  So as soon as i saw what the outcome was i deleted the post because i didnt want anyone downloading the files and then waisting foam. I have since redid all the tabbing and the slots , cut the parts , and rechecked the alignment. I used a zigzag sawtooth method this time and it works great (i think)

Everything is as perfect as i can get it.... Well im pretty darned pleased with the fit of everything :)

    Peace and Just have fun with it. Attached files IllusionByHowardCarpenter File 1.cnc (36.9 KB)Â IllusionByHowardCarpenter File 2.cnc (111.1 KB)Â illusion.dxf (1 MB)Â illusion.pdf (38.4 KB)Â

Im sorry Mark, I thought i had posted the sketchup file

    Here ya go. :)

I used 2 , 5 gram servos and one 9 gram on the one i had last year IIRC .. Also used a 1300kv blue wonder with a 9x3 prop and a bluebird 4 chanel reciever

And the battery was a Apache 3cell 450ma,15c

My new one will be 2-3.3 gram servos and one 5 gram.
Blue bird 4 chanell reciever and rewound 1300kv Blue wonder

A small 2 cell to start , if i dont like it i will pich a small 3 cell..

I will do a little paint befor i start putting togeather, I think i can get it under 5 oz all up pretty easy
But we will see :p Attached files The Illusion By Howard Carpentertest.skp (2.1 MB)Â
