I started on this one last year using some plans I found in a old Model Airplane News magazine. It is a standoff scale of the plane my Dad owned for several years and I have fond memories of flying with him in it as a child. I am naming the plane "Wally" in memory of him. So far the build is going good, I had Navionflyer increase the plan size up to a 60" wingspan and I have made several changes along the way to make it work with the RC gear as it was just a free flight model. It is a combination of foam and balsa married together. I had originally covered it with red monocote but I did not like how it came out. It sat in the corner for awhile, alone and dejected... I recently pulled it out and stripped off all of the monocote and covered it with Dollar Tree foam. Looks much better! Also it increased the strength considerably. It now has a heartbeat and soon I hope to be trying to maiden it... A few more things to do to it but at least it now looks like its loved.... Mudman1959

Just a quick video of the progress on my 1939 Rearwin Sportster. Almost sounds like a real motor... Almost Mudman1959

The best is yet to come... Just put the new landing gear on it and I need to paint the wing struts and then get the wings put on it permanently. Then finish the painting.I will post final photos of "Wally" when it's done... Lee
