    Hello all !

I figured since my machine was down for Stepper replacement. I would take the time to incorperate a few of the modifications i have been wanting to do for a while but just never found the time.

    Here are a few,
1, Replacing all the original stepper motors with the new vexta steppers from the Phlatstore. The length of the wire that comes on the steppers might just be long enough to eliminate the need for the connection blocks for the X and Y axis.
2, I found another way to connect the Y and Z axis all thread to the steppers . No more need for the hose clamps. and the material was free !!
3, I'm doing the sand mod to the pressure rollers.
4, I'm building guide fences that do not require any mods to my machine at all.

First let me say Thank you, For the steppers, your help. ;)
Then for refering to me by my proper name ! It feels good to be called by my name !
But i understand i will always be ewo......... Thats cool too !!

Next I apoligize for the poor quality pictures . But i thought they might be of some help to someone else replacing steppers. or needing to put them back in for whatever reason

A mechanic's extension magnet is your friend ! :D Extra small fingers so to speak !

"NOTE I HAD TO ROUND OFF THE SHARP POINTS OF THE NUTS " in order to get them to seat properly on the the stepper mount.........

I'm feeling good about all of this ! :p Attached files [IMG] [IMG]

Bruce, I prefer to call people by their proper names, but I'm pretty forgetful. If you would add a signature to your profile, and simply put your name in there (like I did, below), it would show up on every post - and I wouldn't have to try to find that piece of paper where I wrote that "ewo = Bruce".

I have got to get another one of these mechanic's extension, I had one but I took the magnet out to use on something else :) I think it was for the surfer dude rescue claw
I am going to look into the rounding of the edges. I did not have to do this, but maybe I can find on out there a little smaller to make that part easier to deal with. Thank you for sharing these pics Bruce, can't wait till you fire it up! :D

    Awesome :D
One thing i did find out, I dont like v tabs much. :? So before i cut sheet 2 , I will be retabbing.

But the big thing here is that " My machine is alive and cutting at least as good as it did before.
I did turn it back up to the way it was. and not a single problem .

Perfect ! Attached files [IMG]

The V tabs work well for me if I set the depth at 10

I was told to set them at 0.
Thats what i did..... On the really long tabs on the wing stands i havent even a hint as to were to cut them. A thin line would have been nice , just for reference :)

    Looking good Bruce! :)
I set my vtabs to 0 but to be honest I only use them rarely when I want to cut something out that I do not want to hassle with cutting the tabs. With the vtabs I can just push the parts out of the foam.

    Thanks Mark !

1 Done. Excellent results ! Oh and the wire is plenty long enough to reach the board........ I eliminated 2 connection blocks so i eliminated 2 possible failure points ! :)
    2 Done. Excellent results !
    3 Done. Excellent results
Also 2 eliminated all of the zig zag up and down action when the z axis was near the home position.
I Blame it all on the hose and the hose clamps . I never could get the small c bend out of the hose....
    No more worries !

That leaves 4. I will try that tomorrow.

I did have some trouble with the wiring. I was not shure how to hook the wiring up. then i rememeber'd this PDF.

It was a life saver for me ! Attached files Manual3Axis(NEW).pdf (242.1 KB)Â

Ewo, so what is that you are using as connector? How do you keep it from slipping, when the motor shaft rotates?

Kwok, I will be glad to tell you once the testing is done.
So far with cutting foam i have had no issues at all with any slippage ! :D

I cut sheet 2. I did procrastinate, I was afraid that sheet 2 would not cut as nice as sheet 1...
    IT CUT PERFECTLY....... :D .....

I will be cutting the wood later today. I expect now there will be no issues ! :p

I made this thing a few weeks ago for 6mm foam, but since I traced the plans from a picture of the original and then converted it to Phlatcode I figured I'd better not post it to avoid running into copyright problems...(am I right or wrong about this? (of course better to be safe than sorry, and getting sued and having to pay Electrifly until (and all of) my pension...) (I mean I even copied their colorscheme...)

Of course I did mod it so it would fit better in my car and house:

Not flown it yet, still practising my hovertechnique in Realflight 5 with the Original Pogo...
    Laterrr,
