    blindflight,

I love the clear lid  One problem I see in the future, I hope not :? Is the foam dust going to stick to the plastic parts like it does to the foam by static electricity. I can't keep it off the inside piece of mine. :?

It would be neat if you could change the static field so It dosn't stick to the foam. Some kind of electric field you put in the machine. :ugeek: Mabey like a old tube resistor or some thing :?: "These thing keep me up at night  "

    Cheers

Nice, I'm digging all the Lexan. Would grounding the plastic knock off the static enough?

Just "borrow" one of those anti-static sheets your wife throws into the clothes dryer, and rub it all over the plastic. Don't throw it away, just put it in a small zip-lock baggie and keep it with your machine. One sheet will last - oh - approximately - forever. ;)

I learned this from a company that sells Nylon cloth for kite sails. They stick one of those anti-static sheets inside the tube the material is rolled onto - and NEVER have static problems.

Paint was, is my nightmare. The spray on primer works way better than, brush on, but huge amounts of over spray. I painted red, almost all red paints are very transparent, so brush strokes show through lots of coats. There are nooks and crannies where you just can't get away from using a brush. The MKII looks very cool with paint, and you don't have to worry so much about moisture. I would avoid latex, it stays sticky for quite a while.

An airbrush set to about 60 lbs of pressure will work nicely and the overspray is negligible. HobbyCity has a nice top feed cup airbrush for $15.99. Harbor Freight has a good 100lb 5 gallon compressor for about $80.
