I've drawn a rectangular shape and it is filled in. I click the outside line and it does not conform to the shape I've drawn. It is mostly zig zag on either side of the drawing. This is my first time so I think it is my fault. I've drawn a simple rectangle using the rectangle tool and the outside line works.
    Need some help please.

Been thinking about this... are you trying to pocket the shape you have drawn?

What I want to do is to cut out a profie of a violin bow. No pockets, just a straight outline cut. My drawing shows the dark filler colour on one side and white filler on the other. Gone through the youtube videos and the help section but still can't figure out where I am going wrong.

Lots of South Africian people in our town, can you send us more?

ah, i see a couple of issues....

    a) it is a component. you have to explode it, SketchUcam cannot deal with components
    b) the face is white, it should be blue side up, so reverse the face
    c) in the inside curve at the top, there is an odd squiggle.... this will affect offset generation.

remove the extra lines so we have one outline....
    my fixed version attached....

There is a book :) , hit the big blue question mark in the toolbar for the manual AND watch my youtube videos
    Start with this one

then watch the others. They won't all make sense at first, but the more you know the more sense it makes.
wow, we need some of that rain, we have water restrictions because of the drought.

Back again. I'm getting my OX kit on Friday so hopefully I'll have it built within the next week. I'd like to face the top but I can't seem to figure out how to do this. It's probably quite simple and I'll feel stupid when I get it worked out. Any suggestions?
Talked to my South African friend and they know your town. On person's first girlfriend was from there.

    Take care.

    Hiya
just draw a rectangle the size of the cutting area and 'pocket' it.
in the parameters dialog, set the material thickness to 0.25 or 0.5mm (depends how bent the wood is, but make sure the frame is straight before you try to flatten the table!),
    stepover% to 80%
no multipass, NOT 'table is Z-zero'
use the biggest bit you have.

set the bit at Z-zero on the table surface. it will be cut down by the material thickness you set.

you can measure how far out of flat the wood is by setting z-zero at bottom left then moving the bit , say by 100mm to the right, and see if the zero is the same there. maybe slip a bit of paper under it, laser paper is about 0.1mm thick so you can get an idea of high and low spots.
do a grid of measurements across the table to figure out how deep to cut when surfacing.
or you can just draw lines on the table and then cut 0.25mm off and see if any lines are left behind. if their are, just cut again after resetting z-zero 0.25mm down.

    cya
