This is a simple build that will have you on your way to flying pusher style aircraft.
Would look great painted up too. :D

mark, started to cut this one....coming out great, scaled down to a 21in. wing span. im using the foam board fom i got at the dollar store....the printer runs so smooth....i cant believe it. cutting it out at 30ipm feed on low speed. the ball end is the way to go mark. i had the guy from work mod some tile tools you use, with a ball end they work great!! the plunges are awesome. i will bring ya some when i come to the show. peace, randy.

hello fellas, i wanted to post this here, in case anyone else wants to scale down this model. i am building a 21in. wing span version. i decited on a little screamer park jet motor. and a 6x4 apc speed prop. you will need a shoe horn to install a 6in. dia prop. alot of frame modding including relocation of the vertical fins. its like cramming a V-8 big block in a VW. i think it will be worth it, as of now with airframe minus speedy, servos, elevators, rx, as pictured its 3.7oz. i think it will be a lil rocket. but you really gotta cram the motor in ther. randy.
bottom, had to hack the fuse sides, i will have to reinforce....
top, i had to relocate the vertical stabs, as to not hack them. have to fill original holes..
    as of now its 3.7oz.

I'd test with the CG about 1'' in front of the spar. JMHO
BTW those Little Screamers are my favorite for the size. At least it looks like a LS motor.

Ok ended up putting the CG 5 1/2 inches in front of spar. I got some good footage of the flight. I posted the short version first and will post the long verision If possable. The Long version shows how the front got smashed. Oh boy don't want to say to much and spoil it :D I did not get a chance to fly it. Hopefully Tomarrow . Peltzer71 liked how it flew but said it needs some more speed. Only a 1500 kv motor. We are going to try a 7X6 prop instead of the 7x4.5

    Short Version

    Long Version

BTW The other plane in the video was a F4U Corsair ARF from Art-tech I think

    Cool mod Glen.
If you don't get the results your hoping for you may want to make those rudders a lot bigger.

    Thanks 3DMON

I did have a go at it today but way to windy and a crappy Battery it was the only one left  I did get some good slip action from the rudders :) I was having a hard time keeping her level with the wind off the trees. It was popping up and down to much. Will try again this weekend.

Glen great post!! Thank you for the edit.
Glad you had the chance to try it out yesterday. I have to get out there and film for you!
I am looking forward to this larger slot version mainly because all the motors I have are lower kv. Have you flown this one before? Or know someone who has?

One guy in Our club has the wide slot at 20oz. It flys fine. It's on the heavy side to say the least. He wants to use Aluminium all the time. He owns a body shop and We keep telling him Aluminium is only lighter than steel. We have another in the club with a 1200 kv and his flew fine at 16oz just not very fast.

I cut one of these out and it worked out fine. However, the bottom panel is much narrower than the base where it is supposed to be attached. Can anyone tell me what is supposed to happen here? It looks like I will have to bend the fuse sides in at least an inch on each side to fit the bottom. Suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks...

yep yep that is what you have to do. You can sand a / into it so it fits better. Or just glue it together as is "thats what I did" Here is a pic from the Front and Back

    Hi Chuck,

Yes you just angle the sides in. I also cut 45 degree angles into the top and bottom of the sides to get a nice flush fit but you don't have to do that. I glue the bottom piece to teh sides (angled) and then glue that assembly to the main wing/fuse.

Thanks Matthew - E-T...I glued mine done (hot glue) then bent them in to fit. It was not easy and it is not purdy, but it is glued. The pink FFF is flexible, so that helped. I don't think it could have been done with the green stuff from Lowe's (too brittle). I considered sanding the edges to an angle and didn't. I wish I had. Now, after bending the fuse sides in the wing is drooping on either side. I am not sure this will be a problem considering how I fly things. All in all, think I will just start over and do some sanding first. I appreciate your comments and the photos. Thanks again.
