    Hey guyz,
I took that 2" 2x8 sheet of foam and carved a large sign out of it using the pony router and with a 1/4" bur bit. I used a 50% step over not the greatest resolution but we did this to get it done quick. I cut at 200 ipm! I made a mistake with the coding and set it to go to deep so the first attempt push all the way to the bars, I redid the code and it did much better the second time.
Although the Phlat3D code had a few strange angle cuts we have to say we are really happy with the outcome :D This was a fun project to try and we plan on doing many more as we improve our skillz.
Here's a video and some pics to check out.
I am thinking white background with blue letters :D
:D Thank you guys for the giftcards you can see we are having fun with them! :D

Thanks John :) All I did was extrude some text using the Push pull tool. It was really easy, I wanted to make something crazy looking but I didn't have that much time to work with it. I love the sign though its going to be cool painted!

    Mark,

I was just thinking that Styrospray http://www.industrialpolymers.com/product-list/styrospray-product-list/styrospray/ would work great for that especially if you are planning on taking it to trade shows.

    Mark,

That is AMAZING, what is really amazing is that the PhlatPrinter was able to move that big piece of foam accuratley. This is just another example of why the Phlatprinter is THE best machine on the market for foaam cutting.

    Wow! That thing looks great.

Any trouble with the router attachment holding the weight of the router? How long did that take?

Surprisingly, not at all Buk and we were cutting at 200 ipm, it took about 1 hour and 10 min. This is the great thing about using these bigger bits it allows for bigger projects and larger step overs.
    Fun! :D
