I was steaming through the shop at Mach 7 and out of the corner of my eye I see a heatsink sitting on the table :?: So I flip a U-ie and find its the Y heatsink and it had simply fallen off the board  Further inspection indicates a simply double side tape adhesive is what holds it on.

Well that is not going to work for me. I don't know how close to a ziptie my fix will be, but its leaning in that direction  I'm going to dig out the computer box and see what I have in thermal compound. I'd hate to use old school ArticSilver II, to conductive. Hopefully I've got some cheap paste in the CPU box, but that was a while ago.

    Anyone else have that issue?

Well crap I wrote this nice little reply and lost all of it after hitting the send button due to a SQL crash.

Yes mine have fallen off and I just twist them alittle back and forth while pressing in and that seemed to do it so far.
BTW just make sure the board is off when you do this :)

I had knocked 2 of my heatsinks off, before I was finished building my PP. I narrowed a couple of long tie-wraps and gingerly installed them, end-to-end, around the circuit-board.

Thanks Mark. I'd liked to have come up with a sexy metal clip like they have on the CPU of some motherboards, but the tie-wraps were readily available.

I see you have not installed a fan on the case yet does it seem to be doing alright?
Do you still have plans on putting one one there?

Oh, sorry  - Those two were some OLD photos that showed the tiewraps. I have a 3" fan mounted to the outside of the case, blowing out, and it seems to work fine - my heatsinks stay cool as a cucumber. Thanks for asking.

Good deal, I just thought maybe you put another bottom (container) on for people to see in :)
