    I somehow missed this topic.
    It's so funny because today I was at a friends house and saw an r/c vehicle that worked just like that. I didn't get to see it run but it looked neat. It was made by Tyco and my friend said it was an older toy. I forgot to get the name of it.
    He said it would work on land and water.

    I just did a google search and it was the first one...how about that.
    It's called the Terrain twister. You can see it in the water in the later part of the vid.
