Here is a cool looking Indian head that was created from a black and white picture file then cut out using 6mm depron (Black and White)
Used Vector Magic to creat the vector to import into Sketchup you can find it here
    http://www.phlatforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=147&t=1541#p15106
The head is cut from white and the backing and stand from black.
I have not tried to cut the stand yet but it should work fine.
I used 3M spray on the white head part to glue this to a piece of scrap black 3mm I had and cut around the circle by hand and it worked out fine.
    Enjoy

Thanks guys, I may be able to do this some day on that machine but I would need a 1/16" bit for that machine to do it.
As a matter of fact I was talking with Tim last night and he told me about the company call www.onsrud.com , they have really nice bits there.

Mark and all - I was positive that Crash or I had posted the link to Onsrud's page on Chiploading, feeds and speeds, but I can't find it now. Here it is: https://www.onsrud.com/xdoc/FeedSpeeds and the info there can be very useful for the PP as we expand into harder materials. The "SoftWood Cutting Data" is usable for foam and balsa, even though balsa is defined as a "hardwood" because of the grain structure.

Thank you Dorsal that is a really helpful link.
Kwok I have seen this and its incredible. I have taken 1/4 foam and done an engraving like this and when you hold it up to the light it comes out great looking :)

Very neat project. I cut one out today but it did not turn out too well. Problem was (for me) deciding which pieces shoud be cut out and which pieces should stay. Lots of small cuts in the design and my machine ripped a few of the parts out during the cut. Would a different cutting speed help?

You could try to slow it down some. Did you use the 1/16" bit?
I did not want to tab all the small parts so as it would cut I would grab the real little parts that could cause it to mess up.

Yep, used the correct bit and maybe could have cut it a little slower. Ill try another before long as I think this is a truly neat project. There should be medals available just for people who can and do design such things!

Just to be a little different - A reverse image.
This was made slightly differently in so far as it was cut in vinyl and then transferred to the disc.
