Ok I had a break from my crazy class schedule and I started drawing at 1 AM inspired by a dream and the Air Force logo. I present the InSpy! I hope to glue up the airframe today and do some test glides, I'll keep you posted on the progress here.

Please let me know what you think good or bad. I really enjoy hearing what other people think and what changes would make it better and so on.

    Sharp looking plane Jason.
Hope you have better success with your forward swept design than mine. I found I would have needed to get the cg way far forward to get my Dagger Dart to fly.
If you get this one to fly right, I might have to give the forward swept wing another shot.

Yea looking at it now I see it needs a longer nose to get the CG spot on. I am going to stretch out the nose and see how she looks...

Ok stretched the nose as far as I want to, If need be, I'll add lead up front to preserve the look of this guy.

Ok I have the airframe built, it looks great in real life. From dream to reality in a few hours, couldn't happen with out the PP (well not as fast anyway). I did some test glides and found the CG sweet spot, should be easy to get it to balance with a light motor and a big battery (long flight times!!)

    Jason,
This is one great looking plane!
Its so original looking I love it.
Great job man. I love the fact that it was inspired by a dream you had.
That's when the best ideas come to me as well. I keep a pad and paper next to the bed so that I can write down any idea that I get during the night :)
Thanks for sharing this I'm looking forward to the maiden flight

Thanks Mark glad you think the design is original looking. I went to bed that night thinking I need to make something original. I used to draw out my plane designs the old way with paper and pen but now it is easier to use SketchUp. The hardest part is trashing a model that didn't come out right and starting fresh.

Jeff : your in luck this one will be free to my Phlat Phriends. I do plan on selling the plans on RcPowers so I would ask that once I am done, that the .cnc files be use only by people that own a phlat printer and only to build themselves one. All other interested people should be sent to RcPowers.com

P.S. All of the above assumes this bird will fly at all lol.

Glad you are digging your F-18, I need to build a new one after showing off a little too much with my demo one!

Jason, that's one awesome plane! I love the lines..One more reason I can't wait to get my PP!

One quick question..if one does by plans from RCpowers for your F-18, are the G-Code files included or would I need to figure out the pdf into Sketchup thing?

Currently my plans at RcPowers are separate from the .cnc files. I think the F-18 is the only plane I am going to offer .cnc files for. I am in the process for about a year now of trying to build a website to sell kits. I plan on selling X-20, Space Shuttle, F-18, and the InSpy kits, just trying to source inexpensive parts, and packing. I'll keep every one posted when I open up my site (I hope by the end of this year!)

Oh man it Flew! It was not 100% awesome but for such a crazy design I can't believe it worked!!!! I am making some changes to give it more elevator authority and strengthen the nose a bit.

I got video of it flying and I am editing it right now I'll post as soon as I get it up loaded.
