    Hey Guyz,
Here is the FlyDude we were working in the Christmas PhlatLAB show.
I ended up re-drawing the whole thing as well as modifying it to be the Ironman mark 2 suit! :banger:
Its aprox. 47" tall and will accept a 8" prop.
This should be a good foundation for other super hero designs as well as micro sizing it (just resize one of the slots to 3mm with the tape tool). It was a LOT of work to get this right and I have not cut it out yet so let me know if you find any problems. I did a quick layout (no tabs) and could not get the last boot to fit. So maybe you guyz can work with that and find a way so we can have it all on 2 sheets :) . The material is set for 1/4" fanfold or 6mm depron using the 1/8" Phlat Bit.
There is a lot of info over on an rcgroups thread about the electronics setup here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthre ... ght=flyguy
PLEASE post your completed versions here on the Phlatforum with information of your setups so that we can all make this a really fun flyer!
This is an early Christmas Eve present to all the Phlatboyz!
    Merry Christmas Everyone!
    Mark and Trish
P.S. Blue LEDs in the eyes/feet and the hands/chest arc reactors would look great!

    @Blindflight:

I would like to build this soon, what is the recommended power setup? How much did it weigh ready to fly? I have plenty of LEDs, so I'm planning on decking this one out.

Thanks for sharing the new design, great work guys!

Cool guyz! well as for the specs we originally had a blue wonder in mind but it seems to be under powered, you may want to ask Blindflight as he is the only that has one flying here. We have gone back to the drawing board on this one and I really want to re-work these plans for a micro version (for the indoor flying weather)that moves the legs to turn , they seem to work much better. I hope to have it done soon, but if someone wants to help that would be great too ;) I think Blindflight has started with the micro, so maybe he will pop on here and let us know where hes at with the build so far.

    Hey guys,
Here are some info and pics of the "Iron Man_PhlatDude".
I used hot glue to assemble most of the parts and also used packing tape on the fuselage/ body sides, arms and back center area. Motor mount and control horn was "CA" glued in, servos, receiver and control guides were hot glued. The packing tape is an easy and strong way to strengthen the body and parts. I used wood spars in the arms and the center section just below the motor area. A 15 degree alinement jig is used for proper angle setting of the body.
This power setup will not have you go vertical. Its a bit under powered but will fly slow as seen in the video. I will be replacing the motor with a bit more powerful one with the same battery and see what happens. Make sure you set up your transmitter for "Delta / Flying wing" type craft to use "Elevons".
The two control surfaces will operate the "elevator and ailerons". Will have more info on the new power plant later.... Thanks Mark & Trish for posting the IronMan FlyDude... :banger:
    Thanks , BLINDFLIGHT
