Well guys I did get started but did not get as far as I wanted to this weekend. I got to step 26 and now it is a day to day thing now until next weekend. Here are a few pics of the build so far. I to am gonna be using the Usb Board and I just read alot on them. I will be getting in touch with Matt O to see if we can collaborate on the software together.

Here is some pics of the z axis done and I am now playing with the usb software to get familiar with it. I will keep everyone up to date on my progress and I hope to have it going within a week or so I hope. Feel free to let me know what you think.

    Chris

Here is the update I got the build done today except for the electronics which will be done tomorrow. I did do some mods and took pics as I was doing them. here are a few of the pics.

Well guys thanks to alot of help from you guys on here I got my machine up and working and cant wait to enjoy it. I posted a couple of pics of my second cut my first cut was skipping due to my pressure roller putting to much pressure causing it to skip but that is fixed now all is working ok now. But thanks again to Mark and Matt_o and also 7up for their help in getting my settings right. This is my first attempt to do a cnc machine and you guys made it all so easy with your help so thanks and lets get cutting Attached files [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]a> [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Looks GREAT. I love the idea of the fuses.... Your fusing each axis, right?
The MK1 is a GREAT learning tool for learning the concepts of CNC and motion control in general. And in the end you have a useful tool addition to your shop.

Are you going to do a belt mod in the future?

@ rcav8r yeah I plan on doing the belt mod but wanna have fun cutting for a while then go back to the mods and see how much I can improve it. I just cut out the angry bird plane in just over 10 mins or so so it moves pretty good now but I am sure there is room for improvement. And yes each axis has the fuses hopefully that will pay off in the future. Thanks guys for the compliments on the build. I am a bit of a neat freak so that is why it is neat. Also gonna post pics of the angry birds I just cut out.

Here is a few pictures of my belt mod. I also had to move the drivers and the control board I like the turn out but did have to do some trimming on my table for the back side but all is working great now. I hope this helps someone else when they do there upgrade.
