    Hey guys,
I thought I'd show off the pp cutting 1/4" MDF using a multipass cut. The depth for each pass was set at .030 going 30 imp.
The project is an air filter for my new DL 30 gas engine. I'm replacing my OS 1.60 with it in my 74" Extreme Flight Yak. Our field got 3 truckloads of sugar sand dumped on it to help level out the low spots...What a huge mistake. I don't know what they were thinking when they did this one. Anyway the sand is ruining everyones engines and this is one way to fix it.
I plan to paint the MDF and poly over it to make it fuel proof. I'll post more pics when I get to that point.

Silly questions... how do you set up for multipass?
and what bit are you using?

I was playing around with some aircraft 1/8" ply this weekend and was having all sorts of problems. I cut 1/8" ply before with no problems, but the new sheet must be harder, or my bit is getting dull as the cuts were garbage.

    Thanks
    Dave

Hi Dave I was using the multipass that is in the betatest of the Phlatscript but Fozzy's Multipass Manglerizer is what you could use. Here is where it is at: http://www.phlatforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=185&t=1294.
I was using a 1/16" diamond cut bit (same as the standard foam bit just smaller)

I didn't dare to talk about it, but I have done similar cuts...

One of the reasons, is that I thought I would get censored as it shows the phlatprinter is capable of partial self-replication in a similar way as the reprap project... of course, that would be hurtful to Mark and Trish business... so not advised but still possible.

AWESOME Shaun!!! that's doing the business!! :D

It still astounds me what can be cut using multipass... I'm just doing the cuts on the case for my synthesizer build http://www.phlatforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=147&t=1582 and that's in 1/2" Mahogany!! WOW, I thought it was tough cutting 1/4" Teak. This 1/2" Mahogany is beautiful timber, but it's like cutting through solid rock.... :D it's all very cool, I must post some video of it cutting out.

    Best Regards,
    Julian (Fozzy The Bear)

I got the filter finished and painted up.
It looks like a muscle car err plane with that filter hanging out the side. It worked like a charm too.
The pics were taken with my phone so they weren't the best.
