    I thought about this last night when we were without power.
    Funny how your mind wanders when you have nothing at all to do !


    Anyways . when the power came back this morning i decided to real quick draw up a file for the 8 ball everyone has came to know and love :)

    I think most every one will have a sharpie attachment very soon

    Some of this stuff would be really cool if printed on the foam before cutting out the plane ! :doubleup:

    Here is my starting contribution.

    Here is one I put together to test my sharpie attachment... I used Cambam to create the file so I don't have a Sketchup file for it.

    The drawing is 5.2 x 4.3"

    I could not get your . cnc file to run in Mach 3. It wouldnt even show up for that mater.

    So i redid it in sketchup and i got this.

    That came out nice. You must have exported the gcode to DXF in the USB software and imported back to SU. Very cool!

    I'm happy you guys are enjoying the attachment. I'm also glad you are sharing graphic files for it, because I don't have any, and I have zero artistic ability. :?

    Flash does the pen fit okay in the holder? It looks like its a little loose on top. One notch should be bigger then the other. you may need to turn the holder around for the pen to fit better. :D

    The pen fit just fine. I think it would be a little better if the whole attachment were a bit lower. The low point is very close to the extreme end of travel, but other than that, It seemed to work pretty good.

    I had one area in which the pen seemed not to want to drop far enough when I was testing, but it could have been my zero was not set as good as it could have been.

    I converted the Road Runner file that came with Mach 3
    Into a dxf. Then imported the dxf into sketchup. I cleaned
    up the sketchup file by removing the travel lines .Now we have a
    perfectly scaleable and useable file . :D Attached files Road Runner.skp (219 KB)Â

    I have been working with the skull drawing and the Sharpie Attachment.

    Man this Sharpie art is looking really good. I may not find myself doing much airbrushing with results like this. :doubleup:

    Here is the code for the skull drawing.

    It is just the tool paths and the registration marks.
    I did blunt the tip of the sharpie to draw about a 1/16" line.

    Awesome guys, why is there a 25% depth cut for the drawing? I would think it should be 10 or just enough to make contact with the foam!!
