We play Hand and Foot with some friends from time to time and the discard pile is always a problem because our rules say you cannot look at discards except for the top card and it is up to the players to try to remember what was played when deciding whether or not to take cards from the discard pile rather than the draw pile.

One couple purchased a tray, but the cards always seemed to get caught partially sideways when tossed into the tray.

On a whim, just before a game at our home, I pulled up Sketchup and whipped out a discard tray and cut it out using FFF, glued it together just before they arrived. The glue was not quite dry, but a little tape was used to hold it together and it worked quite well.

For those of you who want to duplicate it, here is the Sketchup file. It was setup for 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 playing cards. Attached files [IMG] cardtray.skp (97.7 KB)Â

    Very cool Flash!
A good example of how quick you can go from an idea to a functional model
For our inkjet printer here at home, I made a simple paper tray to hold the extra paper that would not fit in the printer tray and it works good.
    Thanks for sharing.
