Ok guyz,
we are working out the prototype bugz and came up with a cool new snap lock in the process (more on that later) we also did a little test paint on the Phlat bonez while the sun was out for a few minutes.
I was not patent and put too much paint on for the first coat so I got some globs, but still looks fantastic! We are really happy with the outcome :good:

Here are some pics to check it out
More to come! Attached files [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Spyder Quad build started: I'd like to thank Mark & Trish / PhlatBoyz for letting me do some testing on the new "Spyder Quad" frame . I'm getting all my electronics gathered up for the build. I'll be using two different boards to do the testing in the "+" configiruation: #1 is with the "HoverFly " & the KK board I built (yet to be tested ) :twitch: . Here are some pictures so far....More to come

ET,
I'm going to start out with a TR2217/20 850Kv / Suggested prop: 11x4.7 E-prop motors from HK , only because I had thought I had 1100+ Kv motors on hand. Its rated @ 22Amps. I'll try smaller props even the 3 bladed ones also.
I did order the TGY AerodriveXp SK Series 35-30 1400Kv / 470w. Which will spin Suggested Prop: 9*4.5, 8*4, 7*7.... I have a few 3 bladed props I would like to try also on these motors.
So, until my other motors come I'll be using the 850Kv & a 3 cell 2200 / Hobby King 25 / 30 amp programmable speed controllers and see what she dose. Remember on the "X" and "+" quads you want counter rotating props..

Evil Tunes has a double set of motors/escs that he said we could use so we may have to have a day where we sit down and build these together. Its going to be a lot of fun for sure

:banger: ET that video was AWESOME!!!! :banger:
Thank you so much for letting me fly! That was a blast and we got the chance to try out the SPYder QUAD frame.
Guyz,
It fly's great but the frame does not take to hard landings as well as we had hoped. It may have been the cold weather that made it brittle, we are not sure. In the meantime we are trying other ideas :)

LOL Randy so many people have told me this famous quote of yours over the past week, and its so true :D
I have to say as cool as this version is to fly. The problem Glen and I found on the first flight test is that with this PVC it holds up great indoors at 70 degrees even with an over weighted drop test at head height, but outdoors when we were testing at about 32 degrees it became brittle and we found it snapped way to easy. So I have redesigned it and I hope it will be much stronger in any climate and lighter? We will see. I will post pics and video as soon as I get this next version built and tested.
Randy I wish I would have jumped into this cool multi copter stuff back when you and Al (Blind Flight) were flying them around! Thanks to Glen (Evil Tunes) bring his over for its maiden flight, I'm hooked and I pretty sure he is too!
I got a fever, and the only prescription...are more rotors!
Thanks guys

Ok I busted up the spider the other day. I tried to gas it straight up and the front flipped up and over and I lost controll. It hit the ground very hard to the point all four arms broke off and busted the props.

I had a Proto type frame from M&T and decided to build it today. I did a few mods like super glue the whole frame including the bottom piece. I also put 4 carbon arrow shafts conecting the end of the arms.

I will be flying this in the + direction not the X as before.

Cheers

I did the maiden after work. Flew OK, but I didn't like flying in the + style. Not being a Helicopter Guy I'm struggling a bit flying the SPYderQuad. It got away from me again and hit the ground Medium.

With the whole Quad being superglued it made a evil snap. The temp outside was 47 deg but I dont think that was the problem.

IMG_0470[1].jpg

I talked to M&T and will be waiting on the next prototype to test.

Cheers
