hello agian fellas....the idiot of the phlatboyz is back. now i am trying to draw and cut text...im just stumbling, bumbleing....can anyone point me to a tutorial, or tell me how to draw and cut text?? im sorry to have to keep asking you fellas for help....i want to cut text like what mark has on his foam table supports. randy.

 

Click on the 3d text tool.
Type whatever you want, then explode it. It doesn't create faces for the inside of letters, so if you select all the letters then run make faces it will put faces on those parts. Now your ready to put in the cut lines.

kinda gettin the results i didnt expect....the file is huge and the cuts are very segmented...do you un explode it at some point agian?

 

I haven't really played with it too much. Maybe try different fonts or sizes. Also the scaling feature might help.
As far as exploding it, you should only have to explode it the one time. That makes it so you can put the cutlines and tabs on it thats all.
