I wish my father was still in the hobby so he could enjoy the new Technology. He was allways doing cool things to his models. Whether it was Brakes for the Fun Fly or a Retractable holding string for the pylon racer and my Fav. "Just for fun" his SIG Kadet Senior had the Pilot move his head with the rudder. Servos were to big then so it was Mechanically done. He still loves when I do crazy stuff with my Planes.

    Cheers

The full immersion type like that is cool. It's too bad that guy was not flying it fpv though.

I hear you ET the older Boyz knew their stuff and really paved the way for us to be able to do what we can do now! Thanks Boyz :good:

Shaun in his video description it says he is flying FPV. I really like the head tracker part of the helmetcam

He also says that he is the founder of fpv lol. :D

I only said that because the 1:22 and the 2:00 and 4:14 marks where he is standing and looking at the plane with the transmitter in his hand. His flights were really close in too.

    Cool stuff though for sure.

You don't need the hud to know where your at when flying fpv but it helps if your not familiar with the area or when flying long distances. Hopefully, sometime soon I will get around to posting some of my FPV adventures. All I can say is it's so much fun.

Oh and your youtube vids aren't linking properly. It's not taking me to the vids.

I think my video links are fixed now.

I have seen people fly around in small areas without a HUD but in comparioson, something about his video seems a little more like it's being flown not through an FPV camera.

A screen mounted on the transmitter definitely makes sense. Explains a bit of the fluidity.

VRFlyer uses video goggles, and a head-tracking gyro to control the in-cockpit camera. To my knowledge, he always flies FPV. I've been following his videos for the last 5 years. He pretty much pioneered the FPV hobby. Most of his videos record directly from the airplane camera feed, but sometimes he uses a separate camera on the plane to record the video, for a higher-resolution video, and minus the movement of the cockpit camera.
