Hey guys on two of my PCs when I am in parallel projection every once in awhile my model looks sliced even though it is not! see pic for example.

    How can I fix this??

p.s. That is my 1010C charger, part of my next project! Attached files [IMG]

Try putting your camera in perspective view . You are zoomed in too close in parallel view :)
Happens to me all the time.

Mark I have one pc that this never happens on. I wonder what the difference is? My new 2.4mhz quad core pc with 512megs of video and 8 gigs system ram does it so I know it isn't processing power. It is strange that one pc is free from this problem and two others are affected...

Funny I thought it was a video card issue because it happens sometimes to me too, but from your pc specs I guess not.
When it happens to me I just click on top view then orbit back to where I want to.

Not sure but I get that from both of mine pc's. It maybe a setting in sketchup I never really looked into it because I thought it was normal :D Even back in my 3Dmax days I would get this problem.

Maybe there is a setting in the Sketchup preferences under video openGL that would help?

I wonder if we uncheck the hardware acceleration in the open Gl if that would fix it??

That's some kind of clipping occurring I think. I wonder if there is anything on the sketchup forums about it. Lots of info to sift through. If you guys want to help me look I am sure we can find it.

    Good find Mark.
After reading that I realize it's when I move something off to the side to work on. The last on the list.
Also I never use perspective so that just adds to it.

I use SDRC I-Deas at work, and creating a view like that is a commonly used function with that software. It's called "View Clipping" and it allows the user to view inside an object without actually removing any walls or other features. In I-Deas, it often happens accidentally when a person brushes the F6 button.
Maybe there is a similar "On-Off" button or command that you're pressing. I'm at work so I can't look at my Sketchup to hunt for such a command.

I don't have a solution to the problem but I know it must be a parameter setting issue, not hardware. I know this because it happened to me once too, on a project I uploaded from here (I don't remember which one). Never happened before and never happened again.

I have the fix for this...   I had this problem and it bugged the crap outta me...  The fix is to hit the zoom extents button. (magnafying glass with the four arrows). i think what causes this is when you pan around it creates a glitch in the section cuts. zoom extenting refreshes all the lines and TADA sanity regained...
