Found this at a yardsale for $20 Goldberg Mig 27 foamie, 5 foot wingspan.
I guess the Army used them as target drones a few years back. :D Attached files [IMG]

I know a few guys who had those. I'm guessing early 90s time frame. They had big honkin' .90 2 strokes in them and they were pigs to fly. They had an aluminum spar if I remember correctly. They were used as target drones, and I believe they used K&B .61s with no gear. Sling shot launch, and if they made it back, a net to "land" it. The ones I saw all had landing gear of some sort added by the builders which only added to the weight.

Nice find for a piece of R/C nostalgia.

It feels like a brick, he gave me the K&B .61 that goes with it. I see a lot of room to shave some weight off it but I will prob use it for dimensions for a flat foamy.
I may just glass this one up and hang it in the hobby room for a conversation piece.

WOW a K&B .61 too... GREAT engine. When I flew glow, all I used were K&Bs, and Foxes.

I think your plan of hanging it up and using it for dimensions is the way to go.
