    Hi all

My question is trying to cut a 1/8" foam and bit diameter set to 1/16"
my bit is set flush with the table top.

When cutting the bit doesn't go all the way throught the foam.

    Can some help me out.

If any other info needed please feel free to ask.

    Thanks
    Navop

You need to put the bit up about 1/8" off the table to compensate for the drive roller sticking up, some people put .080 lexan to help with the roller not being level with the table.

You can also bump up the material thickness and regenerate the gcode. FFF is so wavy that sometimes it helps to just overcompensate by setting the material thickness a little thicker.

When you set the z Axis you put the foam in and bring the bit up till it just touches it or better just off of the foam that would be ZERO. As stated in above posts the foam can be liffted off the top of the PP top a small amount depending on the x axis roller.

    Cheers

You could also increase the depth factors in Constants.rb which is related to how much deeper the cut should be when doing throu cuts.

I think the default setting is 1.4, I have them at 1.6

    $cut_depth_factor_inside = 1.6
    $cut_depth_factor_outside = 1.6
