I've had to put my build into slow gear due to lots of work and little personal time. But I have been nibbling at it gradually and I think I'll be finishing it up today! Gotta say, this has been fun as it is my first all-balsa scratch build and I got to knock it off using my MK2!

Thanks Crash for making an awesome fun project like this accessible and easy!

THAT's your first scratch-built balsa model?? Naaaa!
That plane looks awesome, and using the transparent blue covering really highlights the balsa ribs well! (Never-mind that I'm really fond of blue!)
    Great job Chris! :D

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback and encouragement. Hoping a decent maiden "without any repairs..." as the saying goes ;)

Oh, she's got a 2409-12T, the high KV version, delta termination. Propped it with a APC 9x4.3 and a 30A ESC. AstroFlight says 28A at 320W. Not sure what the AUW is but I am guessing it is close to 14oz, which is a good ratio, thrust should >2:1 at this weight. Have to manage the throttle since there is a serious efficiency problem at this prop combo and the motor will cook.

    3DMon-thanks, that did the trick.

M&T-Adobe Premiere CS4, not using anything 'canned' so the motion graphics sequence was something I banged out in an eve using AfterEffects. After working in this project for a day or so, I'd actually recommend going back to Sony Vegas 9 as I find Premiere clunky, awkward and slow to work with. Sadly, Premiere has become bloated and slow over the years.

I still have yet to get the site up and running....

I have been checking out after effect, it looks awesome. I wish I would have learned that back when I was about 16! :) Looks like there is a lot to learn with that one.
I think your videos came out great thanks for sharing them.
BTW If you send us a banner the size of the ones here on the Phlatforum we would be happy to add it to the rotation.

15 flights on my eQSC and it has been a joy. Now, its only carnage!

Wing departure on the upline of a loop at 3/4 throttle, turning the fuse and tail into a ballistic projectile. Wing ripped out of the forward retaining pin former. I can see in hindsight that probably 2 pieces of 1/4" triangle stock would have probably retained the upper piece of balsa and keep it from ripping off the fuse.

Surprisingly, all electronics including the battery seemed to be very much intact!

THIS is why we love hobby level CNC!

This is rumored to be a photo of it, moments before the structural failure:

I don't think rubber bands will help.
