I want to change out my 1/8 bit for a 1/16th.
The only way I figured out how to do it is to take the top rollers off and then take the top piece of MDF off. Then I can get the bit positioned so I can press the button near the collet to lock it while I loosen the collet and swapp bits. Is there any easier way? Am I missing something?
    Thanks
    Ringo

Not sure what you mean? Do you mean changing the cutting bit? Is this a MK I or II? If yes to those, there is a way as I did it on my MKI, but I forget exactly how. I think just raise the tool the whole way up, and you can get to it.

It is a MKII. I can raise the bit all the way up and get a wrench on the collet, however the collet just spins. You have to lock it somehow. There is a lock on the end of the flexible shaft but the only way to get to it is to remove the rollers and the top piece of MDF. I tried locking it at the Rotozip end but there is so much flex in the cable that if you try to do that and turn the collet the cable twists alot and I'm afriad of tearing it up.

OK this is coming back to me now; been a while since I had the MKI. I wish I remembered how I did it, but I did. Not easy, but doable. I used a dremel in the gantry, so maybe that's the difference. If I remember, I'll post.
