    I thought this would be a good place to share resources of programs we find that will convert PDF files to CAD files.
    In hopes that we can find a shareware version that we all can use to upgrade these cool designs to cut files.

    And the cadkas PDF 2 DXF 2.0. It's trial or demo, but not really limited. Just puts some text in the dxf, but you can just delete it. -Kwok

    Hiya,

    If you have Linux or cygwin on Windows, there is a command named pstoedit that can convert a .pdf to a .dxf.

    Since I am on Windows, here's the cygwin version I found to work:

    $ pstoedit.exe -f dxf_s in.pdf out.dxf

    That's it. (Worked for me, anyhow.)

    Probably needs a little more investigation on my part but I don't think .pdf files can be imported into Vector Magic. The online trial failed when I tried to upload a .pdf even though the site says .pdf is supported - strange.
    But for what it does do, Vector Magic is excellent.
