    G’day,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a tutorial or “how to” for creating 3D canopy’s for aircraft using SketchUp?
I have finished several designs now. And with my MK and PhlatFormer on there way, I was going to make clear canopy’s for everything but for the life of me I am having a lot of trouble creating the dome effect...

    Thanks,
    Matt

:D No problem Matthew. This is one of those WOW plugins for Sketchup and I have had a lot of fun with it.
    Hope you do to

I'm not very good with it, but the Subdivide and Smooth plugin is pretty good at making organic shapes. I created the simple model on the left, and SDS plugin did the rest.

Well after a couple of days work and I finally have a finished product... I intend to use this on a 1.2 meter wingspan Spitfire. I’m going to make a plug from the MK when I get it then make the canopy in the Phlatformer I just finished..
Thanks again Mark for the help,
I’m posting the SU8 file and my CNC file if anyone wanted to have a go at cutting it out or making the CNC file a bit better...
