You gotta have that drag chute or similar to keep directional control I was making these for egg drop contests in highschool. I never had the airtime for fully pivoting blades to let centrifugal force do the structural work. I went hinged via ball pivot (ping pong balls) and an angled counter balance so the faster it spun the less pitch it had. That hang time record stood for years till I did a swing wing egg flying freeflight my senior year. Then, they changed the rules.

FFF would be a nice medium for a kite lift egg drop using this dropbox. Crete an egg holder that can be pushed up a flying kite string, then released when it hits a stopper. Closest to the kite's string distance without breaking wins. Great for dropping empty cans in the faraway neighbors yard too.

Sorry no pics. Hard for me to believe it was 30 years ago, seems like yesterday. Guess I'm getting old. I'm not doing anything tonight, I'll draw it up.
