    Randy,
Thank you for your kind words it means so much to us to hear you guys say things like this and we can't thank you all enough for all the hard work you are doing to make this project a success.

This has become one of them most in depth and well thought out build logs I have see so far, incorporating many great ideas/mods from other builds here and creating many on your own that will surely help countless others on their building process.
Thank you for your hard work and efforts here.
    Well done Randy..
    MnT
BTW Do you have a color scheme in mind? :D

    EXACTLY!!!!.

Still have to paint it? Heck it looks 1000 times better than mine; but I do still have a few more coats to put on it. If mine looked like that now, I'd consider it done :)

I really like what you did with the wire routing... Mine is similar, but while I'm waiting for a new Y stepper, I think I'll change to they way you did yours.

Wow Randy, that really looks outstanding! Great work!

Just remember (like I did), an ounce of paint covers a pound of mistakes! ;)

Well I always thought that motor cycles have cool looking color schemes
I did a quick google and came across these. I think the lines with the pin striping just looks cool..And the stickers add a smooth touch.

That would be too cool!, man you could make some really cool designs for your PP with that.
I have to find that little guy, all I can find is the little gif version I use as my avatar but I have the Photoshop file somewhere on disk.

    Randy,

Thank you so much for your kind words. We really appreciate it. It's all of you that kept us on track and helped us to follow through with this project so everyone can enjoy it. We had it here for years before even telling anyone about it. Once we did, everyone gave us the push we needed to see it through.

Your Phlatprinter looks great. Very neatly done. You did a great job on the paint job as well. How many coats of paint did you use? Any special type? Did you prime it first?

    Thanks again,

    Mark and Trish

mark, im not done yet...... what you are seeing so far is just primer....the brand is called kilz its a sealer, stainblocker. i started to paint some of the parts, but i have to wait til i install my new stepper motor, and some y-axis goodies.....yes more mods, lmao...all i can do now is show you the top and lid. thats not even completed yet, still gotta install plex. i build good, but i suck at finishing. just like my models, ther built true, flat, square, perfect ballance.....but they look like crap, lols. randy.

    clearance is tight...

thanks eric....wile i wait for your zero backlash nut, and my new stepper motor, i have time to start painting....also i am redoing the screw end on the y-axis, it was just captured in a bushing, and the screw made a rattle noise when jogging....it was pretty cheezy. i have a good mod i came up with, im just waiting for the parts. i will post a update when i get it installed. randy.

for the letters, i used black paint with a Q-tip for my "brush", lols. when ya break them the shank part fit the letters read good. when i rolled i made sure i had a dryer roller, and just let weight of it pressing down. i think it came out good, randy.

well waitin for paint to dry, and parts to arrive, isn't a very fun thing to do.....decited to get out the old vinyl cutter. it works just like the phlatprinter, except its very limited to the thickness you can cut. its made just for vinyl, or cardstock that isnt thicker than around .008in. old ladies use them to make scapbooks or something whatever that is.....actually mark im waitin on you bud....i wanna make a cool phlatdude vinyl graphic. i was just monkeying around and came up with this. maybe i will stick it on the back of my truck, lols. randy.

Looks nice. That still looks pro-ish to me. When you were talking about old ladies, I pictured the small hobby ones you get at the craft store.

I do have a logo but I like yours way better :), thanks for letting us have it for a logo. Can you send us the file? I want to mess around with it in Photoshop a little.
Also I do have that little guy as a foam dude that I printed out on sticker paper like you said. I was looking for the real pic of him so that you would not have so much work. Sorry I could not find him. I will send you a big pic of that guy so you can work it from there.
    Thanks for all your help
